The 98th winner of the 2000 Guineas, held on Wednesday 2nd May 1906 over the Rowley Mile, was Gorgos (20/1), a brown colt by Ladas out of The Gorgon, owned by Mr Arthur James. The winner won by a head in 1 minute 43.8 secs, with a neck back to the third. A field of 12 runners contested the race which was worth £5,050 (Equivalent to £565,600 in 2017)
